Network Engineer
Responsibilities
- Serve as lead engineer on intermediate level projects for implementation tasks, interfacing with customers along with architects for requirements gathering.
- Take designs from architecture team along with configurations requirements to build and deploy network and switching changes in customer environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot intermediate network issues that arise in customer environments resulting in quick fix and RCA.
- Configure and maintain network routing solutions to include DMVPN, IPSEC, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, route redistribution.
- Configure and maintain network switching solutions to include rpvst, mst, port-channel, VPC, vlan, trunk, access, and switching best practices.
- Configure and maintain general network services to include nat, AAA, Tacacs, radius, dot1x, NTP, syslog etc.
- Intermediate understanding of firewalls, the configuration of rules, and how to navigate their GUI’s.
- Be able to troubleshoot intermediate routing issues in BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Floating static routes, route redistribution.
- Be able to troubleshoot intermediate switching issues in MST, Port-channels, VPC, vlan, and trunks.
- Be able to troubleshoot network firewalls and issues that can arise from misconfiguration or asymmetric routing.
- Desire and ability to learn rapidly, be self-sufficient, and figure out intermediate problems by researching the problem/solutions.
- Desire to work in an ever-changing environment, with multiple customers at the same time.
- Understand customer satisfaction, be able to maintain tact in stressful situations while keeping clients happy.
Network Engineer
Requirements:
- Degree in computer science, math or a similar field.
- 1+ years’ experience with palo alto, Fortinet, or Firepower security products (to understand network/troubleshooting)
- Certificates not required
- CCNA/CCNP level knowledge required
- Fluent in English, both oral and written
- Strong problem solving skills
- Experience with one or more of the following: Terraform, ansible, python, packer, bsh, and/or powershell
- Works independently and collaborates well with others
